Replacing Your Circuit Boards

Home Owners -use of our online catalog is free for reference only. We only sell to qualified wholesale customers.

A typical Circuit Board will look something similar to the following. On most boards, you will find one or more of the following items that are described below. Identifying each will help you in determining exactly which circuit board you have. In some cases, the actual circuit board number can often be deceiving and knowing the difference between the numbers on the board will help you find the right product. Look below for an explanation.
hOW TO REPLACE YOUR CIRCUIT BOARD

#1
The number referenced here on the board is commonly referred to as the "base board" or "bare board" number and does little to help you in determining what your circuit board number for your particular spa is. It is only the base component in making your circuit board, as well as dozens of other boards for different spas. Do not reference this number to anyone, as it will not help.
#2
There are several numbers on this white sticker that you will find on your circuit board. First, you will find your product serial number, which includes the product number as the first five numbers, sometimes seven. Generally, the serial number will look like, "S/N 52320***200603140051 or 52325-03200403210045. In the first example, the part number would be 52320. In the second example, the part number would be 52325-03. Underneath the serial number/part number will be the model of the board. In our example shown above, it is BOARD BALBOA 2000M7 SER STD LE. This gives the general description fo the board and the board type. If the board number is unreadable, this information will assist you in finding a replacement board. If your circuit board is missing this sticker, either because of age and the sticker fell of, or for other reasons, you can often rely on #3 below.
#3
This is the chip number of the board. Often when the sticker with the board number and serial number is not present, you can identify the board using the chip number. On this example board, the chip number is 2000M7R15. By using the Board Chipset Cross Reference, you can generally determine which board number it is. In this instance, about halfway down the reference page is the listing for "2000M7R1(x)", which corresponds to board 52320.

Replacing Your Circuit Board

The following are some general rules on how to identify your circuit board. We have used Balboa, Hydro Quip and Gecko as examples.

GECKO
HWP INC

To identify your Gecko Circuit Board, you need the following information of the board Eprom Chip Number and off the pak, model number and options. For Gecko circuit boards, both the information from the circuit board and the pak is needed. S-Spa Paks do not have replacement circuit boards. You need to replace the complete equipment pak.
